Allen Meadows' Burghound - 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Thierry et Pascale Matrot
Moderate wood sets very fresh aromas of acacia blossom, spiced pear and green apple scents that are trimmed in hints of lemon-lime. There is good volume if not quite the same mid-palate density to the generous, sappy and seductively textured middleweight flavors that offer fine complexity on the mildly austere but impressively lingering finish. This could use better depth, which should develop. I would add that while this is certainly very good, it can't match the Perrières in terms of overall quality. - Allen Meadows, Juni 2023
